“Small but clean, cheap and at a good location”
Reviewed 18 September 2011

We booked a small room and stayed there for two nights. It was indeed a very small room - don't go here if you are planning to take two big suitcases each, it just won't fit - but the room was very clean, the bathroom comfortable and the staff were friendly. Everything you could possibly need was in the room: shampoo, soap, towels, electricity sockets and even night lamps at the bed. We arrived at the hotel around 10.30pm after an evening flight, and we could still check in without any hassle (after 11pm they close the main door but there will still be somebody at the reception desk to let you in). The location is perfect too: next to the hotel you'll find the underground station Rosenthaler Platz, a little further away you will find S-Bahn station Hackescher Markt, and Alexanderplatz is some 10 minutes away by foot. There is a bagel shop next to the hotel where you can have breakfast but we tried the Back Factory as well, which was 50 meters further down the road and offered more choice at a better price. A downside is that you might start to feel locked up in your small room if you stay there for a long time and don't want to hang out in the city all day - you should actually aim to stay there only for the night. Also you had to pay for the television (€5 per day) and the shower can be a bit of a problem if you share a room with someone you don't know that well: you can kind of see through the glass. There is no wardrobe, only two iron coat hangers on the wall, so you should try not to bring too much luggage.

But hey - where else do you get a very clean bed and your own bathroom right in the center of Berlin for just € 25 per room per night? Can't fault this hotel at all and will definitely stay there again if I ever return to Berlin.

“Small, but clean in a central location.”

Good location for exploring the eastern parts of Berlin. A small, but clean room with shower and toilet is all that need when I vistit Berlin. I'm not spending much time in the hotel anyway, all I need is a bed and a bathroom, and that is all that I get here too. As with low-cost airline you have to pay extra for everything (TV, wifi, extra towels, cleaning etc.), but for a short weekend stay I don't need that. I just need a bed and a shower. The location is pretty good, Alexanderplatz is about a kilometre away and the Museum Island located just 15 minutes walk away. The subway (U-bahn) station Rosenthaler Platz? is just outside the Hotel, but if you enjoy walking like we did, you don't need it. Good location for exploring Prenzlauer Berg.

“Loved it!”

I can only add to the other positive compliments here: I loved it too. he main thing: location, location, location! In my opinion, this is the best location you can find in Berlin, close to the exiting areas of Hackescher Markt and Prenzlauer Berg. And in Mitte, its close to Alexanderplatz and all the sights.

Yes, the room is very small. You have to pay extra to get a room cleaning, hair dryer etc. Sometimes I missed the luxury of getting the room cleaned every day. But all in all, this is great value. The hotel is brand new, and the bed and shower is very comfortable. I think the room has a good design to make the most of its size. Would stay here again!

The location is excellent, close to subway and tram. Less than 10 mins to Alexanderplatz or about 15 on foot. Room was comfortable. Staff very helpful. Real value for money.

The rooms are small but they are well designed. They will not be suitable for a long stay (3+ days) as there is not really any place to put more clothes than a couple of shirts. However, I am not complaining - this was very appropiate and in an excellent location.

Good value for what we paid. Staff was helpful. Room was clean - very, very small, but fine for a couple or close friends for a couple nights - and good Mitte location! I would totally stay there again. I like the idea that your room price is "a la carte," so you don't have to pay for things you don't need, like t.v. or hairdryer, etc.

Room was super small, but fine as we are a couple and were only there a couple nights.

The staff, location, and cleanliness was amazing. We were on the fifth floor. The neighbors weren't loud even though it was a fully booked hotel. We loved staying here. No real cons. The space is small, but who needs space in a hotel room when you're exploring a city like Berlin?
